Traveling from Hong Kong to Thailand: Day 3

Travel

The night before my flight to Bangkok, I was looking forward to seeing Hong Kong’s world-famous night view, but I was feeling unusually cold on my first day, so I gave up on going and just slept at the hotel.

What is Hong Kong’s famous show, “Symphony of Lights”?

It’s recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s largest continuous light and sound show.

The approximately 10-minute show is one of Hong Kong’s most iconic tourist attractions.

When I first saw this show, I was deeply moved and shocked.

I had been looking forward to seeing it for a long time.

However, considering my upcoming trip to Bangkok, I gave up on seeing it.

I simply slept for over 10 hours at the hotel.

Thanks to that sleep, I was completely rejuvenated.

By the way, if you’re taking the Airport Express to the airport, I’d like to introduce a very convenient system.

Hong Kong Station and Kowloon Station have a system called In-Town Check-In.

If you’re flying with Cathay Pacific or another Hong Kong airline, this system allows you to check in and check your baggage at the station at the same time.

I checked in my heavy luggage right away and found it very convenient.

This system is rare in Japan, so I think Hong Kong is very advanced.

I checked my suitcase and headed lightly to Hong Kong International Airport.

This airport is huge, and just getting around is a great workout.

My flight was in the afternoon, but I arrived four hours early and decided to have breakfast at the popular Cathay Pacific lounge.

As this is their home lounge, it was very spacious and luxurious.

The dandan noodles, which are particularly popular in this lounge, are one of my favorites.

I was very satisfied after eating two bowls of these and some shumai.

The flight from Hong Kong to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport took about two and a half hours.

I was doing some research in Japan before this trip, and I heard that entry into Thailand has been very strict recently.

I also learned about the system of online immigration procedures upon entering the country, so I prepared accordingly.

When I arrived at the airport, there were so many tourists that the online immigration documents were completely irrelevant.

Immigration was very easy, and I was shocked, as it was the complete opposite of what I had heard.

If you’re planning a trip to Thailand in the future, rest assured.
