I’ve been traveling for the first time in about a year since December 24th.
My first country is Hong Kong.
I thought about going directly to Thailand, but I made a two-night stopover in Hong Kong.
I previously lived in Hong Kong for about six months, so it feels like a second home to me.
This time, I flew Cathay Pacific for the first time in a while.
For some reason, I don’t fly Japanese airlines when traveling abroad.
I personally always fly Cathay Pacific or Singapore Airlines.
When I arrived in Hong Kong, immigration was incredibly crowded.
I didn’t expect so many tourists to visit Hong Kong.
I still love Hong Kong’s energetic atmosphere.
I felt a power that I can’t sense in Japan these days, and I felt like I was being recharged by them.
As anyone who has traveled to Hong Kong will know, the food there is amazing.
After living in Hong Kong, I noticed the difference between the food in Japan’s Chinatowns and the food in Hong Kong, so I stopped going to them.
Of course, Chinese food in Japan is aimed at Japanese people.
I love the authentic Chinese food in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong has an incredibly high population density in a very small area, so it’s crowded wherever you go.
It’s divided into Hong Kong Island and Kowloon.
Hong Kong was once a British colony, so you can still feel the British atmosphere in things like double-decker buses and streets with English names.
The security situation is also very good, and I find the locals to be very friendly.
Most locals can speak English, which is very helpful for me.
The journey continues.
