Classes closed due to influenza

Influenza is raging in Japan.

Remarkably, the number of people getting the flu is increasing, even in the summer.

At the school where I work, the number of students and teachers getting the flu has been increasing since last year, but all of those who have contracted the flu have received the flu vaccine.

Today, my class was suddenly closed, and I was unable to teach.

I have never received the flu vaccine, but I have never contracted the flu.

When I tell people this, they look at me as if I’m strange.

Japanese people are a strange people, and many of them believe that it’s important for everyone to be the same.

I think this is a negative effect of Japanese school education.

Even as adults, they adopt the trends set by the media, and as a result, the streets are filled with people wearing the same clothes, hairstyles, and belongings.

Unbelievably, many of these people also have the same mindset when it comes to illness.

The media previously reported that one in two Japanese people will develop cancer.

I was surprised to hear this report.

Because, even if most Japanese people think about it normally, it would be truly abnormal for one in two people to develop cancer.

However, my aunt also developed cancer, and she accepted the information she heard on TV because many people were getting it.

There are many people who mistakenly believe that getting cancer is normal because everyone is getting it.

It seems that during this season, the media is hyping up the increase in flu cases almost every day.

As a result, many people think that catching the flu is normal, and that people who stay healthy without getting vaccinated are strange.

The brainwashing that the media can do is truly frightening.
